The Charles Ray III Diabetes Association, Inc. provided Marsha Weeks of Boiling Springs, SC with a Medtronic 508 insulin pump. Thanks to all of the insulin pumpers and their families who support this organization.
My name is Marsha Weeks. I have been a diabetic for 22 years and have been insulin-dependent the entire time. I was able to get an insulin pump thru the help of the Charles Ray Foundation. The pump has been wonderful! It has kept my blood sugars maintained at more consistent levels. I was having severe lows before and had become desensitized to being able to detect them. I have not had any severe lows since I began using the pump. I also enjoy the fact that I can eat only when I'm hungry and don't have to eat just to maintain my blood sugar level. This has made weight maintenance much easier!
I would like to say 'Thank You' to the Charles Ray Foundation for helping me and providing me the opportunity to have a better life!
